You're Now Beyond Hope, Arizona
Nick Dugan
United States, 2022, 21 min.
In English, Spanish with English subtitles.
Includes violence.
Hank, an alcoholic shackled to the ostensibly unbreakable chains of his own guilt and shame, stumbles into the isolated expanse of a neglected desert community to collect a debt… from the one person who can still offer him hope.
Director's Statement
"People can't change" is among the most destructive rhetorics out there. Human capacity for moral evolution on an individual level is vast and malleable. And forgiveness, especially as it relates to self, can be the critical ingredient.
