Rainfall The Band

Shane Peltzman
United States, 2022, 15 min.

In English.
Includes adult language.

Rainfall The Band follows, in real time, an up-and-coming rock band during the 15 minutes leading up to their biggest gig to date. Their ambitious manager attempts to keep them from self-sabotage, especially since the lead singer has yet to show up! The film is an examination of the fear artists possess when sharing and expressing their gift to the world. I believe all artists, including the filmmakers in your festival, will relate to the nerves that creep up before a big moment.

Director's Statement

Rainfall The Band has been a project of mine that has gone through many iterations. In 2021 it was performed as a stage play, and won Best Short Play at the NY Theater festival. The story was always intended as a film and I am thrilled that we have finally captured this story and these characters to show on screen.
