Against the backdrop of contemporary Athens, Greece, Leon's actions to save his best friend have irreversible consequences.

I want to acknowledge contemporary Athens, where a world focus has come to rest. 3000 is concerned with love, and the universal complexities of love, set against a very severe financial crisis, which demonstrates how love, if pushed to its limits, can be broken. In 3000 we come face to face with the youth of Athens who are trying to persevere through a feeling of emptiness that has been thrust upon them; they are being pushed to a limit, a ground zero, that begs for a re-examination of our judgments over ordinary people in their time of need.
