Director's Statement
I was commissioned to make this film by The Roundhouse and The Ex-Animo Foundation. The biggest challenge was animating with fully armatured stop frame puppets, as this was something that I had never done before. My basic philosophy was that at any stage of the project I could not move forward until I was 100% happy with what I had done. If I had 1% doubt in my mind then I would start again. This is a project that I am very proud of. We were very lucky to garner interest, thanks to the animatic I made, from an incredibly talented pool of people; including Liam Cunningham to do the voiceover and David Holmes & Keefus Ciancia to compose a piece of original music. The film took a year to make, including planning, production and post.
