Director's Statement

Many years ago my father had a deep and unexpected depression. His disease affected the whole family. A La Derive tells this personal story with the help of the transparency. When my father was ill, I saw him as transparent. He existed without any presence. He was losing his consistency. I liked this visual idea of the transparency for handling the theme of depression because it turns into something tactile.
