Difficult People
Sohil Vaidya
India, 2018, 19 min.
In Hindi with English subtitles.
This film is family friendly.
An aspiring graffiti artist clashes with his stubborn father as he struggles to find his creative expression in the vast liberating spaces of the Mumbai. It is a story about two men, in the most tender and vulnerable form, away from all the stereotypes about masculinity in contemporary culture.
Director's Statement
While growing up in India in an economically underprivileged family, I was restricted to follow the career which is more lucrative rather than having the freedom to choose a path of my own. It was a long and lonely struggle, emotionally and economically, to keep walking on the path I have chosen for myself. This story is deeply personal to me and also tries to reflect upon similar dilemma faced by several other youths in our country.
