Director's Statement
For years I've been trying to make a film about the common case of lacking communication between married couples in China, especially those from an older generation. I came up with this story with the writer Nichole, and we talked a lot about the difference of relationships in marriage between American and Chinese culture. We developed a concept of the time travel phone booth and that allows our protagonist Yucheng to take the last chance to have a decent communication between him and Luli though it is too late.
