Director's Statement
As a filmmaker and an immigrant, I aim to explore the complex humanity of people who have been labeled as migrants. I have been incredibly moved by the work of La Muna, a musician who has dedicated her time living on the USA/ Mexico border writing songs about deportees and migrants she meets. Seeing her as an artist connecting with people and embracing the heart of their stories greatly inspired me. I believe her intimate approach challenges negative portrayals and allows us to understand the complexities of the situation on the border with a more compassionate view.
