In Paris, Seydou, a migrant from Senegal, endures long hours as a food delivery driver, navigating a city that barely acknowledges him. His routine is a cycle of hardship, fleeting interactions, and quiet resilience. Among indifferent customers and struggling workers, he forms an unexpected bond with Albert, a lonely elderly Parisian. Their friendship offers Seydou a rare connection, reshaping his perspective on belonging. Where There Is Love, There Is No Darkness is a moving portrait of endurance, faith, and the unseen workers who sustain urban life, proving that hope and human connection persist even in the harshest realities.

Director's Statement

This film was born from a deep sense of injustice and a need to give voice to the unseen. In Paris, many migrant workers rent Uber Eats accounts, earning only a fraction of their wages. Witnessing this exploitation firsthand, I knew their story had to be told. Seydou’s journey reflects countless invisible lives—once a fisherman in Senegal, forced to migrate due to industrial overfishing. His struggle continues in Paris, where his labor is essential yet ignored. Through Seydou and Albert’s unlikely friendship, the film explores faith, resilience, and human connection, reminding us of the dignity in overlooked lives.
