She leads her community in "Reconcili-action” a term she uses to mobilize change! A retired school teacher, Joyce always a passionate activist, change maker and influencer works tirelessly to create opportunities for Indigenous Relations education in Canada.

Director's Statement

Mohawk, Turtle clan, Haudenosaunee of Six Nations of the Grand River, Joyce listens with great reverence to what the natural world is teaching her. In her gracious, kind and fearless manner, Joyce is an example of hope, encouraging us to create opportunities to put Truth and Reconciliation into action in our communities. Canada needs leaders whose voices offer healing and a positive path forward; education is the key.
