This film is family friendly.
After a painful breakup, Leah retreats to a quiet cabin with her best friend, Bailey, hoping for a weekend of healing. While exploring, Leah finds a guest book with entries eerily mirroring her own thoughts. Convinced her ex, Matt, wrote them, she becomes obsessed, blurring reality with her emotions. Bailey insists Matt couldn’t have written the messages, but Leah can’t let go. In a chilling twist, she realizes she has been writing the entries herself, unknowingly. The revelation exposes her emotional turmoil, showing how heartbreak can distort memory, perception, and reality, leaving her trapped in her own mind.
Director's Statement
Between the Lines examines the disorienting aftermath of heartbreak, where memory and perception collide. I am drawn to stories that explore how emotional pain reshapes reality. Leah’s journey reflects the universal impulse to find meaning after loss. The guest book mirrors her inner turmoil, blurring the line between real and imagined. Through an intimate, psychologically immersive lens, the film shows how heartbreak can distort perception and trap us within our own minds.
