Fears of a Clown

United States, 2026, 90 min.

Meet Steve: a fast talking, foul mouthed entertainer with East Coast grit and a brilliant, unique mind. After a lifetime of battling severe OCD, Steve poured his life savings into building the world's largest clown museum in the Mojave Desert. But as he nears the finish line, disaster strikes. When the 2025 SoCal wildfires incinerate his primary source of income, Steve faces his ultimate test. This is a raw, hilarious, and heartbreaking portrait of resilience, following one man’s race to save his museum and his mind from the brink of collapse.
Director's Statement
As a Kansas City filmmaker now based in Los Angeles, I’m drawn to those who forge meaning from unconventional, singular passions. Steve is the ultimate outlier. After years of short form storytelling, I felt compelled to make his journey my feature debut. The goal is to capture the friction between his manic showmanship and the quiet discipline of living with severe OCD. This documentary is a portrait of a man building a sanctuary for his soul while the world, and his own mind, threaten to tear it down.
