The artistic vision behind Children of the Mountain explores the sacred Indigenous tradition of the sweat lodge. With the permission of Ron Six Bears Alec, this short film seeks to capture the essence of this spiritual experience, preserve it and carry forward one of the most spiritually healing practices of the Indigenous communities—one that tribal disenrollment threatens but cannot strip away.

Director's Statement

The short Children of the Mountain served as medicine for the You're No Indian team. It is released with permission from Ron Six Bears Alec, the guidance of Laura Wass, the music and direction of Ryan Flynn and the inspiration and fire of Santana Rabang. We hope it brings you the same clarity, strength and healing it brought us.
