As the fight escalates, the two realize they may have more in common despite their conflicting wishes for themselves.
Director's Statement
As a female filmmaker who grew up in China and studied in America, I am passionate about exploring the intricate layers of a mother-daughter relationship, specifically within the context of cultural and generational differences that I've personally experienced. Through Seventeen, I aim to delve into themes of identity, motherhood, and the clash between the values I was raised with and the perspectives I've embraced.
