Director's Statement
Purebred dogs worldwide often have a big problem: they frequently suffer from hereditary diseases. When I made my first film about this, the topic was only known to a few interested people. Dog lovers have been suffering with their dogs for decades and shrugged their shoulders: so sad, but what can you do? The film not only wants to point out the issue, but also wants to show what can be done to choose and have a healthy and happy dog as a friend - for as long as possible.
