The Man With The Silver Case
Colin Best
United States, 2023, 89 min.
In English.
Includes violence.
Already killing himself with drugs & alcohol, an anonymous American agent, the Man in Gray, accepts a deadly job: deliver a suitcase to a shadowy organization. Handcuffed to his wrist, he refuses to ask what’s inside, even when he’s forced to run from those who will kill him for it. When the company he works for starts tearing itself up, he escapes to a safe house where, hiding and waiting, he comes in contact with a family unprepared for the havoc he brings or the destructive impulses he relies on to get a job done.
Director's Statement
When I wrote The Man With The Silver Case, I was thinking about the Universal Soldier, who doesn’t ask questions, doesn’t think about the consequences of their work, whether it’s wrong or evil. The story became about a man, a hired killer, who has never questioned what he does, who he does it for, who uses drugs and alcohol to keep that disconnect alive. Until the day he wants to know, why am I doing this? Why am I carrying this suitcase that is of no benefit to me and yet people want me dead because of it.
