A victim of a crime quickly becomes the suspect in this gender flipped adaptation of a satirical play.
Director's Statement
Asking For It is a satire that explores a day in the life of a victim who is not believed when reporting a crime to authorities. During the pandemic, I adapted the play Asking For It into a short film, flipping the gender of the lead character due to the historical lack of substantial roles for women. I am grateful and proud to share that our talented cast and crew is diverse and inclusive, comprised of women, survivors of assault, different ethnicities and includes members of the LGBTQIA+ and disabled community. I am thrilled to be back at the 2023 Arizona International Film Festival and so grateful for the selection!
